about

Hi, I’m Ed, a working class artist and maker based on the North East coast. I make considered, expressive, and textural large scale artworks and handmade books inspired by my environment and rich inner world.

I use my skills as a printmaker and a book binder to teach workshops, and provide an insight into my practice through my monthly analogue postal subscription; Mended Mail. These projects allow me to share practical knowledge, prints of my work and fragments of original artworks  in a more equitable and financially accessible way than working solely using a commission model, which is incredibly important to me.

I centre my experience of the world as a queer, working class, disabled person within my practice, as I believe this is essential to my ability to communicate my ideas effectively. As an autistic gender nonconformist, my identity contradicts itself through the rejection of the binary, despite my adoration for the clarity a single opposing pair presents. As such, I find myself creatively drawn to grey areas, subtlety, and question marks - places I can curiously inhabit and fully explore.

For commissions, workshops, and enquiries (or an incredibly in depth chat about my take on whatever I’m currently hyper fixated on) please contact me via email:
